By Ruth Brajevich, CMO, Ware Malcomb

Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, is topping off a year of tremendous growth with the opening of a New York City office located at 18 West 18th Street, 11th Floor in Manhattan. The new office, which will focus on interior architecture and design, brings the total number of Ware Malcomb offices in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Panama to 16.

2014_10_f3Bill Sotomayor has joined the firm as Regional Director of the New York City office, combining his vast regional knowledge and expertise with Ware Malcomb’s expanding presence on the East Coast. In this new role, Sotomayor will manage the New York City office and oversee business development and client relationships.

“Ware Malcomb has been active in New York City for many years, and with a dedicated office we look forward to expanding that presence significantly,” said Lawrence R. Armstrong, Chief Executive Officer of Ware Malcomb. “Manhattan is a unique market with a high level of client expectations and challenges. With a proven track record of client-focused work and successful operations growth, we are confident Bill is the right leader to take Ware Malcomb’s New York City business to new heights.”

2014 has been a year of significant growth for Ware Malcomb. The firm’s New Jersey office, which opened in 2005 and has managed hundreds of projects in 21 states across the Eastern U.S., recently announced an expansion into a new larger office space. In April, Ware Malcomb acquired a Seattle-based architecture firm, establishing a presence in the Pacific Northwest.

Ware Malcomb’s most recent high-profile project in New York City was for Time Warner Cable (TWC) Inc., one of the largest providers of video, high-speed data and voice services in the United States, connecting 15 million customers to entertainment, information and each other.

Ware Malcomb was hired to work on the Time Warner Cable Flagship store located in the historic Castro Building in New York City’s iconic Flatiron district. Ware Malcomb provided the interior architecture and design for the 14,000 square foot store, TWC’s largest retail location in the United States. The design included wood flooring throughout the space and custom designed fixtures. It was the latest in over 20 retail locations that Ware Malcomb has designed for TWC across the nation.

The new store is designed to offer customers an experience that is completely interactive and immersive, fully loaded with all the latest gadgets, electronics, and services that TWC has to offer. The store welcomes guests with a modern, open floor with TWC’s interactive TV, internet, phone, and IntelligentHome products and services. The store also comes equipped with free WiFi, mobile charging stations, payment processing, hardware pick-up and return, and the ability to decrease wait times with exceptional customer service. The TWC Flagship Experience store is the first of its kind in the cable industry.
