032: Victor Cho CEO of evite on Hyperconnected Connected Business Models

Victor Cho, CEO of Evite, got an early start when he created a consulting business while in high school building relational database systems for the Seattle Public Schools. He then earned a B.S.E. in Statistics and Marketing from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business and went on to work at Microsoft, lead Kodak Imagining Network’s Ofoto, and found BigLeap.org. Victor will also be a featured speaker at IMA’s IMPACT15 conference this September.

With more than 22 million registered users and over 25,000 invitations sent each hour, Evite (@evite) is the top online invitation and social planning website. Their goal is to increase meaningful human connection and make it easier to bring people together online and offline.

“It is greater than the internet. It’s greater than wireless. It transcends social, mobile, local. Those are really all manifestations of or components of getting everyone onto the same network all the time.” — Victor Cho

This is the second time Victor Cho sits down with host Dominick Sirianni. If you haven’t yet, listen to episode 031 for some fascinating background info on Evite’s CEO. This time Victor dives deep with a full presentation on Global Ubiquitous Connectivity (GUC) and what he calls “The New World of Connected Business Models.”

Victor offers real-world examples of how you can learn to see new opportunities by learning from companies like Amazon and Evite. This complex term becomes very clear as Victor shows the immense business and marketing value of finding scale by leveraging more than just the traditional B2B and B2C business models. Learn how to recognize opportunities others miss.
