Vince Walden, CEO of Kona AI, the leading AI solution in investigative and compliance monitoring for anti-corruption, risk, and compliance professionals, has been recognized as the Certified Fraud Examiner of the Year by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Each year, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) recognizes exceptional individuals for their contributions to the fight against fraud. Now in its 20th year, the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) of the Year Award, is presented to a CFE who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the field of fraud examination. Nominees are evaluated based on a number of criteria, including their contributions to the ACFE, to the profession and to the community.

With more than 25 years of investigative and legal technology experience, Vince Walden has extensive experience deploying anti-fraud, compliance, anti-bribery and corruption compliance monitoring, sanctions and trade compliance, and antitrust technology solutions. He also has deep insights in using leading technology approaches to artificial intelligence and proprietary anti-fraud behavioral algorithms.
As an internationally recognized industry thought leader, Mr. Walden is an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University’s Law School, teaching Compliance Innovation. He sits on Compliance Week’s 2022 Advisory Board and is featured in many publications, including Internal Auditor Magazine, Compliance Week, Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, and The Economist. In addition, he is a regular columnist for FRAUD Magazine, writing on anti-fraud technologies. As part of COSO’s Anti-Fraud Task Force, Mr. Walden co-authored the “Fraud Risk Management Guide”, released in September 2016 and is currently being updated for 2022. He also hosts a bi-weekly podcast show, “The Walden Pond”, which focuses on compliance innovation on the syndicated Compliance Podcast Network.
