Dr. Margaret Bredehoft, chief development officer of TruArc Health and a leader in the development of Gnosis for Her, has been named a nominee for the Orange County Business Journal’s 2026 Women in Business Awards. The annual program recognizes Orange County women for their professional accomplishments, leadership and contributions to the business community.
The nominees will be recognized during the Women in Business Awards Luncheon and Program on Sept. 17, 2026, at the Irvine Marriott. The event will include a VIP reception, followed by the luncheon and awards ceremony. Nominees are featured in the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards Special Report, published Aug. 17.
Dr. Bredehoft has decades of experience across health care, public health, corporate wellness and entrepreneurship. As chief development officer of TruArc Health, she has helped build and launch three enterprise lines of business: Gnosis, a full-service clinical laboratory; Gnosis for Her, a women’s breast imaging platform; and Healthy Campus, a school-based healthcare technology solution.
Her work at TruArc Health has included supporting the launch of new diagnostic services, expanding access to women’s imaging and helping scale Healthy Campus to support more than 1 million students across California. Gnosis for Her uses 3D Breast CT technology to provide diagnostic breast imaging in mobile setting for women with implants, dense breast tissue, history of breast cancer, or for women who have delayed their annual exam due to fear or pain experienced during traditional mammography exams.
Previously, Dr. Bredehoft served as Orange County public health director, where she led the county’s public health response during the COVID-19 pandemic and co-commanded Operation Independence. Her tenure also included securing a $27 million competitive grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and closing a $19 million departmental budget deficit. Earlier in her career, she founded Vitalae Ventures, opened community clinics for Providence and developed health initiatives serving employers and communities nationwide.

Dr. Bredehoft’s work continues to focus on developing scalable health care programs that expand access to diagnostics, women’s health services and school-based healthcare resources. Through Gnosis for Her and TruArc Health’s other business lines, she supports initiatives designed to connect clinical innovation with practical community needs.
