Gnosis for Her, the first mobile 3D breast CT diagnostics experience for women, announced a new partnership with Karis Healthcare. Karis Healthcare is a medical group with extensive oncology care experience, focused on expanding access to patient-focused care.
The partnership is designed to make it easier and faster for women to obtain a physician order by offering a streamlined, convenient pathway to secure the medical authorization required for diagnostic breast imaging in California. Studies have found that up to four in ten women nationwide delay or avoid mammography altogether, often due to discomfort, anxiety, or difficulty accessing timely appointments, factors that can push diagnosis further down the timeline.
By integrating Karis Healthcare’s option for telehealth evaluations into the Gnosis for Her experience, women gain direct access to licensed clinicians who can assess medical history, determine medical necessity, and issue imaging orders when appropriate. The partnership reflects a broader shift toward physician-led, compliant diagnostic access models that can be replicated beyond California to reduce delays in care nationwide.
“As awareness around breast density and early detection grows, we’re seeing more women actively seek answers. However, too many are stopped by logistical and administrative hurdles,” said Dr. Andrew Chang, Founder of Karis Healthcare. “This partnership creates a responsible, physician-led solution informed by extensive oncology care experience, connecting women to the care pathway they need without unnecessary delays.”
California law requires a valid physician order for diagnostic breast imaging, a requirement that can disproportionately delay care, particularly for the nearly one in four U.S. adults who do not have an established primary care provider and may face wait times of weeks or longer for an appointment. The Gnosis for Her–Karis Healthcare partnership directly addresses this gap by aligning diagnostic imaging access with compliant, clinician-driven telehealth evaluation.
“Women shouldn’t lose access to imaging because of paperwork or timing,” said Dr. Margaret Bredehoft, Chief Development Officer at Gnosis for Her. “This partnership compresses the time for women to get care rather than the breast.”
Together, Gnosis for Her and Karis Healthcare are helping modernize how women access diagnostic breast imaging, bringing physician-led evaluation, timely authorization, and innovative technology into a more responsive, patient-centered model of care.
