NeighborWorks Orange County will host an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Forum on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Garden Courtyard Center in Garden Grove and will provide valuable insights and practical information on the growing role of ADUs in addressing housing availability and sustainability.
The forum will feature presentations from experts in the ADU industry, including Celeste Goyer Executive Director of Casita Coalition, and RaShawna Fahie, Manufactured Housing Program Manager at NPHS. Attendees will learn about the latest trends, the community benefits of ADUs, and receive guidance on planning, financing, and constructing these secondary housing units.
“Housing affordability continues to be a critical issue in our community, and ADUs offer a creative solution to help meet the demand,” said Helen O’Sullivan, CEO/President of NeighborWorks Orange County. “This forum will give participants the tools and knowledge they need to explore ADUs as a viable option for expanding housing opportunities while enhancing neighborhood sustainability.”
The event is designed for homeowners, developers, policymakers, and community leaders interested in the potential of ADUs to enhance housing options in their neighborhoods. Participants will also have opportunities to network with other professionals and community members committed to innovative housing solutions.
NeighborWorks Orange County, a HUD-approved counseling agency, is organizing the event as part of its mission to create affordable housing opportunities and strengthen communities across Orange County.
