Nina Mahmoudpour is Chief of Staff & Investor at Type One Ventures, where she sources innovative technologies and helps steer investor relations with Co-Founders Tarek Waked and Abdo John Hajj. Before joining Type One, she was a founding team member at food-tech startup HUNGRY, leading product and operations as National Director of Market Expansion — during which she helped scale the business from six employees to over 200 across 12 cities.
At Type One, Nina and her team invest with deep conviction in the firm’s core thesis: backing transformational companies in space and deeptech, AI, industrial automation, energy, and biotech. She partners closely with founders in these verticals to help them scale operations, navigate complex markets, and accelerate toward growth inflection points.
Her early VC exposure includes time at a Silicon Valley-based firm and global tech accelerator. Nina’s interest in space and deep tech began during law school. She holds a J.D. from Georgetown University and a B.A. in International Studies & Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
