Type One Ventures, a rapidly expanding venture capital firm investing in multi-stage space, A.I., and deep technologies, recently hosted its third annual Frontier Summit, Frontier Tokyo 2026, a three-day gathering convening global leaders across artificial intelligence, space, deep technology, policy, finance, and culture at Happo-en, a 400-year-old sanctuary in Tokyo.
The summit focused on the emergence of the “Deep Tech SuperCycle” and the convergence of artificial intelligence, advanced computation, orbital infrastructure, autonomous systems, and next-generation manufacturing as foundational pillars shaping the future global economy.
Frontier Tokyo 2026 brought together founders, investors, policymakers, scientists, creatives, operators, and institutional leaders from across the United States, Europe, Japan, and APAC for discussions surrounding A.I. infrastructure, space economies, quantum computing, and cross-border collaboration.
Featured speakers included Dr. Koichi Wakata, Kay Firth-Butterfield, Dr. Simran Chana, Dr. Prag Mishra, Darius Shahida, Ramsay Brown, Shuichi Ichimura, PhD, Shinichi Takata, Takashi Yokoyama, MBA, and The Honorable Yuichiro Tamaki, among others.
In addition to thought leadership programming, the summit featured curated cultural experiences, private dinners, and immersive networking opportunities designed to foster meaningful global collaboration across industries and regions.
The Tokyo edition builds upon the success of previous Frontier Summits held in Lake Como and Venice, Italy, further establishing Frontier as a platform convening leaders shaping the future of frontier technologies, global innovation, and strategic partnerships.
