NeighborWorks Orange County Appoints Andrew Fahmy as President and CEO

Appointment marks a new chapter of growth, innovation and community impact for NeighborWorks Orange County

NeighborWorks Orange County (NWOC), a leading nonprofit dedicated to expanding affordable housing, homeownership and financial empowerment throughout Orange County, today announced the appointment of Andrew Fahmy as its new President and CEO, effective July 6, 2026.

Fahmy succeeds Helen O’Sullivan, who retired after a decade of leadership that strengthened the organization and expanded its housing and homeownership programs. During her tenure, she also secured transformational funding that positioned NeighborWorks Orange County for long-term growth and expanded its impact across the region.

An Orange County native and respected nonprofit executive, Fahmy brings extensive experience in workforce development, financial empowerment and cross-sector collaboration. Throughout his career, he has focused on building partnerships and developing innovative programs that connect housing, workforce development and financial stability to create lasting economic opportunities for families.

Most recently, Fahmy led Orange County United Way’s United for Financial Security initiative, where he oversaw strategies that helped households increase income, reduce financial stress, access career pathways and build long-term stability. Under his leadership, the initiative significantly expanded its programs and partnerships, serving more than 15,000 Orange County households each year.

“Andrew brings the strategic leadership, collaborative approach and deep understanding of Orange County that NeighborWorks Orange County needs for its next chapter,” said Martin Sanchez, Chair of the NeighborWorks Orange County Board of Directors. “His experience building partnerships and connecting workforce development and financial empowerment will help NWOC expand its reach and create greater opportunities for families throughout the region.”

“I am honored to join NeighborWorks Orange County and build on the organization’s longstanding commitment to helping families achieve homeownership and greater financial stability,” said Fahmy. “Housing, economic opportunity and financial well-being are closely connected, and I look forward to working with our talented team, partners and supporters to expand our impact and help more Orange County families build a stronger future.”

Fahmy also serves on the Orange County Workforce Development Board representing the Fourth Supervisorial District. In addition, he serves as Board Chair of the Multi-Ethnic Collaborative of Community Agencies and as a board member of The Raise Foundation.

As President and CEO, Fahmy will lead NeighborWorks Orange County’s efforts to expand affordable housing and homeownership opportunities, strengthen financial empowerment services and deepen partnerships throughout Orange County. Working alongside the organization’s staff, board, partners and supporters, he will focus on building upon NWOC’s strong foundation, growing its impact and advancing new strategies that help more individuals and families achieve long-term housing and financial stability.
